ABOUT "PARTNERS FOR OHIO'S FAMILIES"
The Ohio Office of Families and Children (OFC) and MCWIC will collaborate to develop and implement a new technical assistance model. This project is a part of Ohio's systemic effort to improve its child welfare outcomes, and will materially alter how OFC works with Ohio's county-administered child welfare offices. It will build Ohio's capacity to implement evidence-informed and promising child welfare interventions. The project consists of several distinct elements: a formal assessment of OFC organizational culture and climate; development and installation of a new technical assistance model; a rule review; implementation of organizational structural and functional changes to facilitate the new model; and ongoing fidelity monitoring.
PURPOSE OF THE REGIONAL FORUMS
As with any good partnership, success of this project will be dependent upon open communication and the ability to build a truly collaborative relationship. To begin the process, MCWIC will host a forum in each of the Ohio Child Welfare Training Program's Regions to understand how the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services can better work with and support Ohio's public children services agencies. Please consider adding your agency's voice to the process.
The agenda at each forum will be identical. The event will be hosted and facilitated by MCWIC staff. After an initial presentation describing the details of the project, attendees will be invited to participate in small focus group discussions to provide input and share their agency's perspective on the current and future role of OFC in supporting public children services agencies.
Each county is asked to select representatives to attend and register in advance. If you are unable to attend in person, we invite you to provide input using the brief web-based survey, available on the online registration page. Note that participation in the survey is not limited, and is open to any interested party working in the Ohio child welfare system.
Results of the Regional Forums will be aggregated and used to inform the development of OFC's new technical assistance model. A presentation regarding the results and next steps of the project is being planned for the PCSAO Annual Conference in the fall.
